Ashputtel
I read "Ashputtel" written by
Brothers Grimm. A woman who married a
rich man had been sick. She told her daughter to be a good girl forever and she
died after telling it to her daughter. Her father got married another woman who
has two daughters in spring. Two
daughters had good faces, but their personalities were bad. So, the girl was not treated well by them.
Also, she did not have a bed to lie down. Therefore, she forced to lie down in
front of hearth. So, she got ashes on her body and called Ashputtel by the new
mother and two daughters. Then, a feast
which was for seeking a prince's partner in that land.
So, Ashputtel's two sisters forced her to
take care of them. Ashputtle could not help crying because she also wanted to
go to the feast. She asked her mother to go to the feast. She said if you could
clear a condition, I permit to go there. Ashputtle cleared the condition and go
to there.
Then, the prince found Ashputtel and decide
to dance with her. After dancing with her, he asked her to send to home, but
she hesitated to be sent to home. So, she ran off toward home.
The next day, the feast was again held and
the prince danced with Ashputtel again. And he planed to send her, but she
reluctant it. So, he had laid a plan. She be caught the plan and left there
leaving her shoe. The prince picked it up and said that none should be my bride
save the one whose foot the shoe should fit.
The Ashputtel's two sister tried to putted
on the shoe using any ways, but the prince admitted them and ask the father
others were here.
He asked Ashputtle to come and let her put
on the shoe. The prince felt certain that she is my bride…
